Frequently Asked Procurement Questions
What is the difference between High Fat and Low Fat Desiccated Coconut?
High Fat Desiccated Coconut retains the coconut's full natural oil content (minimum 65% fat), giving it intense coconut aroma and rich mouthfeel, ideal for premium confectionery, bakeries, and chocolate enrobing. Low Fat Desiccated Coconut has had part of its milk/oil extracted (typically 45–55% fat) and is utilized where texture is required without excess oiliness.
How is your Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) extracted?
Our partner facilities extract Extra Virgin Coconut Oil through cold centrifuge separation or cold-pressing fresh coconut meat within 48 hours of harvest. No chemical solvents, high-heat refining, bleaching, or deodorizing (RBD) are used, preserving natural lauric acid (>50%) and crisp coconut aroma.
What container volumes are supported for bulk food manufacturers?
For Desiccated Coconut, standard supply is 1 x 20ft FCL accommodating 12 to 14 Metric Tons (multi-wall paper sacks). For Virgin Coconut Oil, we supply in 190 kg drums, 1,000L IBC totes, or 20 Metric Ton bulk flexitanks.
How do you ensure microbiological safety during ocean transit?
All Desiccated Coconut lots undergo steam pasteurization at partner plants and are tested negative for Salmonella and E. coli. Sacks feature multi-layer moisture barrier liners to prevent atmospheric moisture absorption during sea transit.
